We left Puerto Vallarta at 8am this morning. It is now 20.34 GMT, which we decided to use for the trip. We have been going around 5 hours. It is just like Star Trek! Aboard are Mr Ryan, Mr Huggins, myself, and Captain Cregan. He wanted to be called Captain Mike, but I refuse to have anything to do with that type of Tony Blair-esque informality.
As you can see the internet is working, although slow, but it's getting the signal from something called the Atlantic West satellite, and won't work from the Pacific one, despite that one having a good signal, and working for the phone. What this means is that it may not work for long, I don't know.
It is fairly calm at the moment, thank goodness, and we are making 7.8 knots at 1100 rpm with a rate of fuel burn of 3.3 (US) gallons per hour. which is excellent. The sky is blue, and so far so good. The mountains of the Mexican coast are just about out of sight now, and it should be around 14-15 days until we see land again.
I am on watch, Mr Huggins is fishing, Mr Ryan is playing the guitar, and Captain Cregan is on his laptop structuring the arrival at Nuku Hiva.(that's what he told me, but I'm unsure what it means)`
Most importantly, we all get along well.
Lone Wolf is full of food, full of fuel and overflowing with hope and enthusiasm.
